The 2016 Nissan Versa has been recognized by Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com as the Subcompact Car category winner in its fifth annual 5-Year Cost to Own Awards, which recognizes new vehicles with the lowest projected ownership costs.

The awards are based on Kelley Blue Book’s 5-Year Cost to Own data for new cars for the initial five-year ownership period. Among the factors taken into consideration are depreciation, expected fuel costs, finance and insurance fees, maintenance and repair costs, and state fees.

“New-car shoppers usually pay a lot of attention to how much a car will cost upfront; however, sometimes an even more expensive car on the front end can actually save you money during the first five years of ownership by having low total ownership costs,” said Dan Ingle, vice president of vehicle valuations, industry solutions and international for Kelley Blue Book.

It’s all-new all around, with vastly increased capabilities. Despite the domestic dominance of the full-size truck market, this TITAN shows Nissan is not quitting, and in fact has found a way to brilliantly cover a niche that their bigger [...]

The 2015 Nissan Sentra is the top Compact Car in the 2015 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study℠ (IQS), the industry benchmark for new-vehicle quality. Sentra – also awarded an IIHS “Top Safety Pick” earlier this year – received the award yesterday at the Automotive Press Association (APA) Luncheon in Detroit. Now in its 29th year, the Initial Quality Study is based on responses from more than 84,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2015 model-year vehicles surveyed after 90 days of ownership. Initial quality is determined by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100), with a lower score reflecting higher quality. The study was fielded between February and May 2015.

“In the very competitive segment of compact sedans, Sentra continues to separate itself with a strong combination of quality, safety, value, style and more,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan [...]
